Privacy policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

This policy explains what information PlayHall handles when you play, and why. In short: you can play without an account, we only collect what the site needs to work, and we do not sell personal information.

Without an account

Your best scores, favorite and recently played games, and settings (language, sound, robot level, Kids mode) are saved in your own browser's storage. They stay on your device and are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them. If you rate a game or answer a friend's challenge without an account, we keep only the vote or the score, shown as "Guest".

With an account (optional)

If you sign in, we store:

  • your email address and a display name (you can change the name);
  • your password, only as a secure one-way hash (Argon2), if you sign up with email; or, if you use Google sign-in, your Google account ID, email and name as provided by Google;
  • your best score in each game;
  • your avatar, favorite games, XP, level and daily play streak; your friends; the challenges you create and your answers to others; and your ratings of games;
  • sign-in sessions and password-reset links, which expire on their own.

Your display name, avatar, level, streaks, best scores and favorite games are shown publicly on the leaderboards and on your profile page. Your friend code is shown only to you. Your email address is never shown.

Online matches

When you play a Versus game online, your display name (or a random player name) is shared with your opponent for that match. Match data is kept in the server's memory only while the match lasts.

Technical data

Like any website, our servers receive your IP address with each request. We use it briefly, in memory, to stop abuse such as password guessing and score spam. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs for security and reliability.

Services from other companies

  • Google sign-in is used only if you choose it.
  • Umami counts page visits and which games are played, so we can see what to improve. It sets no cookies, does not store your IP address and does not build a profile of you. See Umami's privacy policy.
  • Sentry receives a report when something on the site breaks: the error, the page and game it happened in, and your browser and device type. We use it only to fix bugs. Reports do not include your account, and Sentry is set not to store your IP address. See Sentry's privacy policy.
  • Google AdSense may show ads on the game list. Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure ads, and in some regions to personalise them. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and manage personalised ads at Google's Ad Settings.

Your choices and rights

You can play without an account, clear your browser data at any time, and change your display name. To get a copy of your account data, correct it, or delete your account and scores, write to contact@playhall-web.onrender.com. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA) you may have further rights; we will help you use them.

Children

PlayHall is a general-audience site. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
